I first met DJ when he was a groomsman at his friends’, Anna and Will’s, wedding just before the pandemic hit. When Nicole wrote me about their engagement, I was so excited to make the connection with a previous groomsman and his girlfriend (at the time).  DJ remembers my husband, Farmer J, well and is hopeful that he can join along as the second shooter for their wedding next year.  Farmer J is looking forward to it!  Nicole and DJ had their engagement session in Upper Bidwell Park. The weather for their engagement session was probably the first cool day in Chico. I think I even saw Nicole‘s teeth chattering at the beginning of the session. That didn’t last long though because DJ warmed her up when he pulled her and close for pictures. How They Met

Nicole was working with her sister on the cattle ranch and DJ was just moving there.  When they were first introduced, DJ shook Nicole’s a little too intensely!  On their first date, they enjoyed ice cream as they walked the Delta. 

The Proposal

Nicole and DJ had been dating for five years when DJ took Nicole to Burney Falls for a hike.  She had questioned him about if he was planning to propose and he reassured her that it would have to be the right timing for them.  He tried to assure her this was not the time.  At the end of the hike, with a waterfall in the background, DJ got down on one knee and proposed to Nicole.  She said yes!  

Nicole and DJ, you two are officially professionals and you will rock your wedding day!  Your engagement pictures are so romantic and perfectly capture your love. It is easy to see how close you two are and how strong your relationship truly is.
