Keri and Brandt were wanting to document their son’s first birthday, and they decided that a family session was the perfect way to capture this special moment in their lives. The last time I photographed Keri and Brandt, they were pregnant with the birthday boy. Their sweet daughter had some of the best smiles during this session too. You can view their maternity session here.  I was looking forward to seeing everyone again and to meeting the birthday boy.

While I was taking pictures of their family, a couple walked up behind them.  As soon as they were in view of the children, the children went crazy with smiles; because this couple was Grandma and Grandpa!  Grandma and Grandpa helped to keep everyone’s attention the whole session, especially with the birthday boy!  We even were able to include Grandma and Grandpa in some pictures.

Pictures with two kids three and under makes it hard to predict how long the session will go, but Keri and Brandt’s family session was longer than I was anticipating!  Everyone was happy except the birthday boy who would throw out the cutest frustrated shaking fist every now and then. I am certain he would have preferred to have been in his grandfather’s arms than taking pictures.

Keri and Brandt, I was so excited to see your family again and to meet the birthday boy. So much has changed since I saw you last for your maternity session. I loved having the opportunity to catch up with your family and to meet the infamous well-loved grandparents.  I am so excited for you to see some of my many favorites from your birthday family session.
