For Jena’s 16th birthday, she celebrated by flying to California to visit her Aunt Carolina.  Carolina had set up a surprise portrait session for Jena to celebrate this milestone birthday.  Carolina was very prepared with a variety of locations, including their almond orchard that had just started to bloom, and props for Jena’s portrait session.  Jena had various outfits and accessories for different locations as well.  I loved going into the session with so many options, because this gave Jena a wide assortment in her gallery and so many beautiful pictures!  You can view more portrait sessions here.

Jena was a bright spot in my day!  She was vibrant in front of the camera and personality shined all session long.  She was a joy to interact with, but it was even more fun to see Aunt Carolina and Jena interact together.  They brought out non-stop giggles and laughter.  I can see why traveling to California was such a gift for Jena’s 16th birthday.  Jena was a gorgeous young lady that radiated confidence and joy.  It was fun to hear her ideas for pictures and what she envisioned as well.  Some of Jena’s requests were my favorites!

Jena and Carolina, what a treat it was to spend the afternoon with you two!  I loved getting to see your personalities shine together and your laughter when you two went nose to nose!  Some of my favorites from the day were when I had Jena smile to Carolina!  Jena, you are one lucky young lady to be able to travel out to sunny California to visit with your Aunt Carolina.  She was well prepared and excited for your visit.  I am so excited for you to see some of my many favorites from your Sweet 16 portrait session!  I hope that these pictures continue to bring plenty of smiles to your faces for years to come!
