Amanda and Hayden celebrated their engagement at the Bidwell Park Golf Course in Upper Bidwell Park.  Upper Park is special to this happy couple; because not only does Hayden golf here often, but it is also the setting of their proposal story.  Their fall engagement session captured all of the beauty of Upper Bidwell Park in the fall season and all of the love Amanda and Hayden share.  Their sweet puppy dog, Kode, who also played a big role in their proposal story, was also included in their beautiful session.  You can view more engagements here.

How They Met

Amanda first spotted Hayden in the hospital cafeteria.  Amanda was working the night shift, and Hayden was working in the cafeteria.  Once Amanda was able to learn his name, she looked him up on Facebook.  Then she took the bold step to ask to be friends.  They eventually exchanged phone numbers and went on their first date.  Amanda knew from that first date that Hayden was the one.  About one month into dating, Hayden met Amanda on her front porch.  He pulled out a handmade, carved, wooden puzzle piece.  Hayden asked Amanda if she would be the “missing piece to his puzzle”.   Since this momentous day, they have now been dating for seven years.

The Proposal

Hayden took Amanda on a hike with their dog, Kode, in Upper Park. With Hayden being the romantic that he is, he decided to include Kode in the proposal. On their hike, Hayden clipped a special dog tag with the engagement ring onto Kode’s collar. As Amanda turned the corner, she saw that Kode was wearing a new red heart-shaped tag. She bent down to read the dog tag. Engraved on Kode’s tag was, “Will you marry my dad?”. Without any hesitation, Amanda said yes!

Amanda and Hayden, I loved spending the evening with you two! You are officially professionals, and you are wedding-ready for June. Engagement sessions hold a special place in my heart; because this is where we get to know each other, and you get a peek into my style and posing. But it is not every evening that I get to go meet the beloved family kitty cat! You two are amazing together! I loved having the opportunity to see you hold each other in your arms and steal a few extra kisses. I loved your playfulness and flirty attitudes.
