The “something borrowed” varies from bride to bride.  Kalli had a very unique something borrowed, her mother’s wedding dress.  On Kalli’s wedding day, she wore the bodice from her mother’s wedding dress, and a new skirt that was handmade by her grandmother.  The flower girl, Kalli’s niece, was also wearing a sentimental item on the wedding day.  The flower girl was wearing the same flower girl dress that Kalli had worn at her parent’s wedding.  The pride of these dresses was undeniable.  During Kalli and Madison’s thank you toast during the reception, Kalli took a moment to inform all of their guests the special meaning of her wedding dress, and that her grandmother created this gorgeous dress.  Grandma had hand-sewn all of the little beads along the lace of the skirt!  She is quite the seamstress!

All morning, Kalli had trouble keeping the tears from welling up in her eyes.  Even when she was moments away from having Madison turn around for their First Look, her maid of honor came to the rescue with a tissue and words of encouragement.  Their First Look was so emotional.  But I could see by the look on both of their faces, that they were relieved to have seen one another.  They were now able to enjoy the rest of the day together!  You can view their engagement session here.
