The rain and wind had been in the weather forecast for a couple of weeks following Kristi and Kyle’s maternity session in Chico Creek Canyon. The sunshine finally poked out from behind the clouds and had dried up the orchards, so they were no longer a mucky mess. Last spring I took Kristi and Kyle’s family pictures in the almond blossoms. Kristi was hoping to get some coordinating almond blossom pictures for their new baby girl’s nursery. We only set the session date one day in advance, because we had been watching the weather and seeing nothing but rain. Fortunately, Kristi is very organized; and she had no problem pulling off her wardrobe, hair, and makeup. You can view their maternity session here and their almond blossom session from last year here.
I only have one word to describe Kristi’s session: Romantic. Kristi wore the most gorgeous gown I have ever seen, and the white almond blossoms raining down from the trees complemented her perfectly. The light breeze made her skirt dance in the wind, and her hair was nothing less than perfection. The sequins on her bodice shimmered in the sunlight. I wish I had maternity pictures that looked like these! Kristi had many onlookers as they passed by the orchard and saw this beautiful sight.
Kristi, I am so excited for you and Kyle as you continue to write your story together. Your big babies will be wonderful big siblings, and they will teach Baby Girl everything she needs to know (and does not need to know!). I am so happy that we waited for the orchards to dry out and even happier that the sunshine decided to make an appearance for your maternity session. The timing was perfect to have blossoms rain down on you during your session too! Our whole family cannot wait to meet your newest bundle of joy! Congratulations to you and your whole family!
