Here are some words to describe our two-year-old twins session: AnaElsa, bubbles, gummy bunnies, Peppa Pig, wagon ride, rocks, and Gold Bug.
When you are two years old, you are busy. You do not always want to do what the adults want you to do. You want to dig for rocks and not look up from your play. You want to talk about AnaElsa and Prince Hans instead of looking at the camera. You want to be the one holding the bubbles instead of having Nana tempt you with them as they blow past you. You want to be pulling the wagon instead of sitting in the wagon. For being busy bee toddlers, these two did an amazing job during their whole session!
With their great cooperation, we were able to capture a wide variety of portraits in their session. Their mommy and I had prepared to try to get their individuals at the beginning of the session in case they were not up for an early morning session, but they were happy to be out for a walk! After the first five minutes, I joked to their mommy that I had all the images I needed; and we could go home.
As we continued on with the session, they were even better sports. There may have been some gummy bunnies and bubbles for smile motivation, but these helped us get some amazing pictures with the two year olds together, with their mommy, and with their Nana. To finish up the session, everyone got the opportunity to take a little cuddle break and the chance find Gold Bug in the book Cars and Truck and Things that Go written by Richard Scarry. This is a current favorite in their household.
Along with smiles at the camera, I was able to capture a “drama face” and some beautiful eyelashes as a two year old searched through his gummy bunnies snack bag. While I love posed pictures, I also love to capture the smiles that occur during a book reading and Nana’s snuggles.
