In The Orchard
This family had one request for their family portraits; and they really wanted it to be held at their property in Capay, CA. They have a beautiful red barn and a growing walnut orchard that they were hoping to be a background. As a farmer’s wife myself, I really appreciate the country setting, and I felt right at home as did they.
As I arrived, dinner was being prepped by Grandma; and drinks were being enjoyed by all. Their family was getting together to celebrate family. They were so kind to offer me drinks and a meal even during their special time together. Grandma watched as we got everyone in place and ready for their portrait session.
This family was looking for an updated family picture and some pictures of their young ladies. Their daughters were confident, intelligent, and humorous ladies. I love their sister pictures below. You will see how their energy shines through the camera lens and the connection they truly have together. Their daughters were confident to ask for their own unique pictures in the pose and the location of their choosing. This family was easy to photograph, because they have so much love to share. They enjoyed squeezing in close for a hug, and there was probably a funny comment or gesture from their youngest in every picture. Mom and Dad were able to take some portraits of just the two of them together. Their country setting made everything just a little bit more romantic.
Picking a location you love, makes you fall in love with the picture that much more. You have a connection with the picture automatically. Their orchard setting was beautiful. I see why many brides and grooms stop by here to take pictures on their country property.
