Love and Chaos

When you add a new baby to the family and this now gives you three babies under the age of five, you will experience an enormous amount of love and some chaos in the mix. There is no way to avoid it. The two come hand in hand. One child is laughing, one child is crying, and the other one needs a diaper change… now!  This is your tribe, and you love them hard. You stick together through the good times and the tough times. In the middle of this thing we call life, this is when the memories are created.

This family of five invited me into their beautiful country home in the outskirts of Orland, CA, to document their newest family member and to capture a day in their lives. We were able to capture their family doing what they do best, loving on one another. While I was there, we experienced some reading, a few super heroes came to the rescue, there was cuddling; and we could not forget about their beautiful baby boy. (Who slept through the whole session!) Having three children of my own, I know how enticement may be needed to motivate young children. Dad was prepared with plenty of jelly beans for when quick sessions of family pictures were complete. Little did the big kids know that I had a box of jelly beans as a treat for a job well done!

I was able to capture Super Man at his best, and he then did some reading with his mommy and big sister. Big Sis belted out a Moana solo for us after viewing the movie. Lifestyle sessions are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I was able to get in some baby cuddles and document his ten little toes.  By the end of the session, I feel like I truly know and love the members of the family. This family was captured doing what they do best, being a family!  Life can be crazy, but this is what having a family is all about.

  5. […] Michelle wished to take spring family pictures; but due to quarantine, we needed to postpone their session.  Michelle will go back to teaching with the new school year, and we wanted to capture her family before the fall season became a busy time for her family. This is not the first time I have photographed Michelle and Scott’s family. I took their newborn lifestyle pictures for them when they welcomed their younger son into their family, and I have also taken multiple family sessions for them since then. You can view a couple of Michelle and Scott’s previous sessions here and here. […]
