This beautiful family all traveled back home to celebrate their youngest sibling’s engagement to his soon-to-be bride. All of the families rose early and we gathered in Ord Bend Park to capture them together. Two families arrived together in one car and the other car that had the rest of the family were to arrive a few minutes behind them. We started individual family pictures with the family that had two sets of twins! We all were hoping to move quickly through pictures to try to keep everyone, big and little, happy.
The other car had not arrived yet, so I moved onto the newly engaged couple and took a variety of pictures to capture them on this special day. A text came through from the other car saying that they were in Hamilton City, about ten minutes past Old Bend. The brothers joked that their sisters could not remember where Ord Bend was located because they had moved out of state. When then they did make their way back to the park, the children all ran out of the car to hug their aunts and uncles. I mean sprinted, jumped, and leaped into their family members arms!
We wanted to capture a large group picture before the littles got upset or fell asleep. Good thing we did, because one of the little twins did not make it through the whole session without a nap in his soon-to-be aunt’s arms. As we continued to capture the family portraits, the children started to play nearby and collected sticks and acorns. When I was cleaning out my photography bag the next day, I found a stowaway acorn and it brought a smile to my face. I know this is why I am drawn to photography. I loved getting the opportunity to build a relationship with this family and to see how much love and joy they all have for one another. When everyone gathers again for a wedding in the future, the newlyweds already will already have a family that is filled with beautiful couples as their role models.
