If it were not for Emily and Mark, I may not be where I am today in my photography journey.  They were my first true couple session at Sierra Nevada Brewery in Chico, California.  You can view their blog post here.  (One of my first blog posts ever!).  Emily and Mark invited Emily’s parents, Debi and Mike, to join them in Upper Bidwell Park for their pictures.  We were able to get plenty of picture combinations: family pictures, Mike and Debi together, Emily with both of her parents, then Emily and Mark together.

These four beautiful people were hilarious when they were all together!  I have known Mike and Debi since Emily and I were kids, and I have never seen this side of Mike!  He was a crack up with jokes and flirting with his wife, Debi!  Mike and Debi laughed the whole time as I took pictures of just the two of them.  They made me smile when I saw how happy they were together.

Emily and Mark were so comfortable in each other’s arms that I took too many pictures of them, and I delivered too large of a gallery!  Mark’s personality shined throughout these pictures, but I think that may have been because he had Emily cuddled up close to him!  Emily and Mark may secretly be models, because they rocked their pictures and trusted me the whole time.

Emily and Mark, it was so much fun to spend the afternoon with you two and your family.  Emily, we have experienced high school together, years of pitching practice, softball games, and we were in each other’s weddings.  It was so special for me to now document this moment in your lives.  I love that I get to see you two and your parents around town.  (Costco.  I always see you all at Costco!)  I would not be who I am today without my life experiences with Emily!  You two are so lucky that you get to go through life together.  I hope you continue to share the love and laughter that your parents have today.  I cannot wait for you to see some of my many favorites from your session!
