Kaylen + Anthony Bidwell Park | Engagement
The thunderstorms and hailstorms had been rolling in and out the days prior to Kaylen and Anthony’s engagement session in Chico, CA. The sun was shining bright in the early morning and then hid behind the clouds as soon the session began. The sun did not shine again until our session was over. I did bring along some umbrellas in case the weather turned into a rainy day. We were in a quiet and secluded little area of the grand Bidwell Park; it was the perfect setting for an engagement session!
Kaylen and Anthony met each other in Chico through their brothers that were mutual friends. Kaylen was supposed to return home to Sacramento, but the love of her life kept her in Chico. They cannot imagine living anywhere besides Chico, because this is where their story began. When Anthony proposed to Kaylen, they went for a hike up to a waterfall in Tahoe National Forest. Anthony is quiet and reserved, so he is not one for many words. Kaylen noticed that Anthony was acting really nervous at a certain point during their hike. He asked Kaylen “Do you love me?”. She responded “Yes”. Then he asked her “Do you really love me?”. Kaylen again replied “Yes”. Anthony then pulled out a ring and asked Kaylen to marry him. She obviously said yes!
The location of their engagement session has a special meaning to Kaylen and Anthony, because this is where they will be married this June. We had the opportunity to walk through the ceremony site, see where Kaylen and her bridesmaids will wait to walk down the aisle, and we all envisioned where the bride and groom will stand up at the alter. During their session, these two lovebirds playfully bantered and flirted the whole time. Anthony had plenty of nuzzling up time with Kaylen; and I am not sure what he was whispering into her ear, but it resulted in plenty of genuine laughter and beautiful smiles that made her light up!
Kaylen and Anthony, I loved getting the opportunity to spend time with you two during your engagement session! You two made my job so easy! I can tell how much you care and trust one another just by how you two cuddle up and smile together. I can see that you are best friends, and I think that is so important in a relationship. Please continue to fall in love with one another over and over again. I am SO excited for your wedding day in June! Your engagement session is just a little preview to how amazing your wedding pictures are going to be!
