For this portrait session, my clients picked me up on the way to their session!  When we moved into our neighborhood two years ago, we did not realize this family was going to be included with the deal!  We lucked out!  Our children get along great, they have similar interests, and the adults enjoy spending time together as well!  My children even say “Aunt Lesley”.  Uncle Jason has not stuck yet, but Jason has not given up hope yet.  Fortunately, the rain stayed away long enough for this family to capture their family portraits at California State University, Chico.

Lesley and Jason both graduated from California State University, Chico.  This beautiful campus is where their love story started.  Being back on campus brought back memories of certain buildings and classes, how they met, their fraternity and sorority, the jobs they held, and the future possibility of their children attending the same school one day as well.  All of their children gave me beautiful smiles, and they did a wonderful job following directions.  Their children did know that my children were going to see their pictures, so there may have been some smile motivation.  We got some wonderful laughs from their youngest child when she was sitting on the steps and she refused to smile.  This then led to her real smile being captured on camera as she laughed with her mother and father.

Lesley and Jason, I had so much fun photographing your family at the location of your love story.  It was fun to relive the past with you two, hear your stories, and to capture the present day with your beautiful family.  I hope you will cherish these pictures for the years to come and enjoy when you look back on your babies.  Thank you for allowing me to capture this moment in time with you and your family.
