Lauren and Andrew are getting married! They celebrated their engagement in Upper Bidwell Park and then Lauren’s family joined in to take advantage of some pictures together while they were back in Chico.  It was wonderful to finally meet everyone in person and to witness the love they share!  You can view more engagement sessions here.

How They Met

Lauren and Andrew met in college. They had been in a long distance relationship for five years while they went through graduate and professional schools.

The Proposal

This past summer, Lauren was a bridesmaid in Andrew’s brother’s wedding. The night before the wedding, a cousin had asked Lauren when she thought she would like to get engaged and she said not until her graduate school was completed. Planning a wedding, looking for a job, and writing her thesis all seemed like a lot to juggle. The day after the wedding, Andrew and Lauren were strolling along the Spokane River and Andrew had asked her if she meant what she had said about not wanting to get engaged while she was still in graduate school.  Lauren confirmed, but she added that if he were to ask, she would say yes.  Andrew expressed his concern about not being able to surprise her with a proposal.  Lauren agreed and shared that she has a pretty strong woman’s intuition and she feels like she will probably know when he is about to propose. And then Andrew said, “Well, I think your woman’s intuition is off today because I don’t think you see this coming.” Andrew then got down on one knee and proposed to Lauren.  She said yes!

Lauren and Andrew, thank you for trusting me with your engagement session.  I am happy our schedules aligned to allow us to get your session in while you were visiting Chico.  It was amazing to see your relationship and to get the know the two of you.  You are lucky to have found each other and get married in less than year!  I am excited for you to see some of my favorites from your engagement session in Upper Bidwell Park.
