Kristie and Shawn are getting married! You would not guess it by looking at the beautiful pictures below, but we were almost locked inside the park! There was a notice on the gate stating the gate would automatically lock at 7 PM. We did not think much about it until we realized that leaping over the fence could be quite the experience for an engagement session. Shawn is husband material, because he voluntarily ran ahead to hold the gate open for Kristie and me. PS: the gate was not locked at 7 PM, but we could not risk having it truly lock on us! How They Met

KKristie and Shawn met with the help of mutual friends, plus online dating to set up their first date. For their first date, they went out to the Sacramento River and went fishing on Shawn’s boat. Shawn had plans to cook for them on the water; however, he conveniently forgot his lighter; so that made for a wonderful excuse to have a second date.  From that point on, they were nearly inseparable!

The Proposal

Kristie and Shawn had plans to go to Lake Almanor for the weekend, and Kristie had been wanting to hike Mt. Lassen.  The week before they left, Shawn mentioned that it would be fun to set out on the hike with some wine, cheese, and snacks for them to enjoy once they reached the summit. As soon as Shawn had mentioned that, Kristie had a sneaking suspicion that he might be planning something special; but she did not want to get her hopes up. On October 15, 2022, they set out to hike Mt. Lassen; and once they finally reached the summit, Shawn dropped down to one knee and proposed to Kristi.  She said yes!

Kristie and Shawn, thank you for trusting me not only with your engagement session but for trusting that one day we would not have rain in the forecast.  Ember was an excellent doggy at pictures.  She made me smile throughout the evening.  You two are going to rock your wedding day because you made my job easy and fun.
