Nicole and DJ first inquired about a session with their dogs; because one of their dogs, Sarah, is starting to get older, and they wanted to document them in their lives. Sweet Sarah was camera shy, and she tried as hard as she could to not look at me when I was taking pictures. The salami doggy treats that Nicole and DJ brought with them were the trick to get her to look my way. If I was holding the doggy treats, she wanted nothing to do with them. I had DJ slightly to my side to get her to look in my direction for her pictures with Nicole.

I cannot help but smile when I look at these pictures, because Nicole and DJ have the sweetest dogs. Lily and Sarah love Nicole and DJ with all their hearts. There is nothing quite like the love of a dog. Nicole and DJ are their whole world, and the affection they have for them is obvious.

Nicole and DJ, thank you for trusting me again with your portraits. Taking pictures with dogs can be a little bit like taking pictures with children. I am constantly watching for the dogs’ attention and hoping that you two are still looking at me! Everyone did amazing! I am excited for you to see some of my favorites from your family session!
