About a month before Megan and Matt’s wedding, they were uncertain of what their wedding day would look like due to the current shelter-in-place guidelines. Fortunately, Megan and Matt were able to have a beautiful intimate wedding day with their closest family and friends in attendance. Although they would have loved to have more of their family and friends in attendance, Megan and Matt were happy to have the opportunity to get married. You can view Megan and Matt’s engagement session here.
When I asked Megan if her wedding day shoes were nearby for me to photograph, she told me that I did not want to photograph them. They were not new, not pretty, missing a label; but they had a story. Megan shared that she has owned her shoes for years, and she has walked and prayed many miles in her shoes. I assured Megan that these shoes did need to be photographed! They are an important part of who she is today.
Just before Megan and Matt’s first look, I was walking Matt to the meeting location; and I asked him how he was feeling. Matt shared with me that he was feeling very excited, and it was a feeling that he had never experienced before. He could not wait to marry Megan! Matt’s description of his feelings is the perfect definition of Megan and Matt’s relationship. They were both so excited that they were able to exchange their vows and to finally be husband and wife!
Megan and Matt, I am so happy that I was able to be there on your wedding day and to capture your beloved ceremony. You two are so lucky to have such a supportive family and group of friends to surround you with love on your wedding day. The big smiles you two shared on your wedding day made it easy to see how much love you two truly share! I am so excited for you to see some of my many favorites from your wedding day!

[…] Megan and Matt celebrated their first wedding anniversary with a portrait session to document this past crazy pandemic year. One year ago, Megan and Matt were happy that their venue was allowing them to have a small gathering of their closest family and friends for their wedding day. Fast forward one year later and these two have spent more time together than ever before due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was a good experience for these newlyweds because I am sure that they know each other better than they did when they were engaged. You can view Megan and Matt’s wedding blog post here. […]
