I first met Matt when he was the best man for Abigail and Dalton’s wedding this past spring. Later that day, I met Megan at the reception. She and Matt were quite busy on the dance floor! I was so excited when they reached out to me about wedding photography. Megan and Matt are a busy couple; so when they had a day off together, we scheduled their engagement session and hoped for no rain. Mother Nature provided nothing but beautiful sunshine for their chilly engagement session in Upper Bidwell Park.
Megan was working as a scribe at the hospital, and Matt was an EMT. Megan saw Matt once in the halls, and then she did not see him again for two years. Two weeks before Megan graduated nursing school and had plans to move, she spotted Matt again in the hospital multiple times within the week. She expressed her crush to a head nurse, and the nurse then played matchmaker and talked to Matt. He had said that he thought Megan was cute. The nurse suggested that Matt follow her on Instagram. Matt made the bold move and followed her on Instagram. They began messaging through the app, which then turned to text, which then led to a very long all-day first date. They began with a walk on the Sundial Bridge, ate burgers, chatted in his truck, and then they went grocery shopping together.
Megan and Matt had dated for almost a year and a half when Matt took Megan for a hike to Burney Falls to celebrate his birthday. Two friends, AE Couple Abigail and Dalton, joined along; and they did a fantastic job of documenting the whole day. Matt had the ring in his boot! Before the proposal, he even documented the ring’s location in a picture by pointing down to his boot while Megan was smiling for the camera. On the top of one of Megan’s favorite bridges, Matt dropped down to one knee and asked Megan to marry him. She said yes!
Megan and Matt, the love you two share is obvious to anyone! You are so comfortable in each other’s arms and the laughter does not stop. I am so happy you two have found each other and that you get to share the rest of your lives together. It seemed like Farmer J and I were out with friends and not working. You two made our jobs incredibly easy! We cannot wait to photograph your wedding in May! I am so excited for you to see some of my many favorites from your winter engagement session.
