I am so excited to share these pictures with you!  Mandy contacted me this past fall.  She shared their story and told me that they were currently fostering a little boy.  They were hopeful that adoption was in the near future, but there is no way to know if and when that would truly happen.  For those of you that do not know, Farmer J and I were in the adoption process before we had Fish.  Mandy and Jon’s story touches my heart.  I tear up when I look through their blog post below.  And I smile to know they get to keep their son forever.  Mandy and Jon’s son is the first grandchild on both sides.  Everyone is ecstatic to have the adoption finalized!

I have helped to document this little boy’s first birthday, their fall family portraits, the adoption day in the courtroom, and their first pictures together as an official family.  It is hard for me to write “official family”, because Mandy and Jon are the only family that their son has ever known.  They have been a family from the day their son was placed into their arms.  The taken pictures prior to the adoption day were not allowed to be posted online.  So I am so HAPPY to be finally sharing their blog post!  It is a long blog post, because there are so many pictures to be shared!  If you are interested in learning more about foster care and adoption, please click here.  To see more family sessions, please click on Tiffany + Ben, Jenna + Kevin, and Heather + John.

Mandy and Jon, can you believe this day has finally arrived?  You can finally share your son’s beautiful face with your family and friends!  Thank you so much for allowing me to document your adoption journey.  It was an experience that I will never forget.  You have gone through something that not everyone even fully understands.  You two have gone through this journey together, and it is something no one can ever take away from you.  I hope you enjoy looking through some of my many favorite pictures from your session.
