Margo twirled the microphone nervously in her hands. She then took a deep breath as she scanned the room, and she finally landed her gaze on the newlyweds, Julia and Nick. “I don’t know why I was selected to speak” Margo announced to the wedding guests seated in the barn at Red Rock Lake Events. Margo then immediately choked up, and she was unable to speak with tears already welling up in her eyes. She was ready to hand off the microphone to the next speaker; but after a deep breath, she began her toast. “Julia and Nick are all that I have ever known. I have never known Julia without having Nick pull her in close in the kitchen to steal a kiss. I have never known Nick without Julia there to scratch his head. I have only ever known Nick to be Julia’s pillow as she falls asleep on the couch at 8:30 pm… every night.”
After all the toasts were given, Nick stood to give a speech. He complimented his new wife for putting together such a beautiful wedding. Nick thanked her for all of her time, energy, and thought she put into every little detail. He shared that Julia would ask him for his opinion on certain things for their wedding; and he usually responded with a “yes, no, or I don’t care.” Nick told Julia that if teaching does not work for her, she could always be a wedding coordinator!
Nick proceeded to thank everyone for coming to their wedding. He thanked the caterers, wait staff, disc jockey, photographers, and he continued down the list of their vendors. It takes a special type of person to thank the staff that is working at his wedding. Nick has been very busy this year with his fireman duties. Everyone appreciates all that you do and thank you and all the other firefighters for their hard work. Even though Julia was super busy preparing for her students at school and planning a wedding, she went out of her way to surprise Nick by having a retired fire truck parked outside of the reception barn. All of these little things are what make a difference. These little gestures of love are what keep a relationship going strong over the years.
Julia and Nick, I have never met a couple that are as sweet and genuine as you two! The love you two share is obvious to anyone that comes in contact with you. Every since I met Nick at your engagement session, I have been even more excited to photograph your wedding day! You two are the perfect example of what love looks like. Individually, you are each a pure joy to be around! Together, you are a stellar match that radiates love and joy. You are more special than you two will ever know. I am so excited to watch your love story grow. I cannot wait for you to see some of my favorite pictures from your wedding day!
