Susan and Scott’s family all gathered to celebrate their granddaughter’s third birthday.  Even though it was still a warm day, the hot streak that had hit Chico had dropped a few degrees to make the day more manageable.  I was fortunate enough to photograph their family gathering for their granddaughter’s second birthday celebration the year prior as well.  You can see their family session from their granddaughter’s second birthday celebration here.  I love when I get the opportunity to grow with a family and see them throughout the years.

The birthday girl was the princess of the session.  Everyone wanted to be close to her, and they wanted a picture with her.  She did not disappoint either!  She smiled and loved all of the attention she was receiving.  Since everyone was in a good mood (especially the birthday girl!), we were able to get some group pictures of the whole family together, some of smaller family groups, and then lots of breakouts to allow everyone a picture with the birthday girl.

Susan and Scott, I feel so honored to have had the opportunity to photograph your family again!  I loved seeing everyone and getting to catch up with you!  You have such a happy and loving family, and this is exactly why I love doing what I do.  I love to give you beautiful pictures of your joyful family.  You all laugh and feed off of everyone’s energy.  You all make my job incredibly easy.  I hope you print and frame these beautiful pictures for you to continue to enjoy for years to come.  I am impressed that you all attended a barbecue following your portrait session, and you then celebrated a big princess three-year-old party the next day!  I love that your family truly enjoys the company of each other, and you choose to be together for these special moments in life.  I am so excited to share some of my many favorites with you!
