Michelle + Jared

There could not have been more perfect weather for this fall family portrait session for Michelle and Jared.  The sun was shining, and it was still warm for this late October day.  Their family met in the late afternoon at the Honey Run Covered Bridge, just outside of Chico, CA.  I love photographing this family, especially these twins; because they are a part of my family.  The twins recently celebrated turning two and their session can be viewed here.  I was really excited to see what Michelle had decided for her family to wear, because we would brainstorm wardrobe ideas over breakfast at our weekly church group meetings.  When their family stepped out the car, my jaw probably dropped because of how amazing they looked as a family and individually.

Michelle and Jared arrived looking stunning together, add in a set of well dressed twins; and this is perfect recipe for fall family portraits.  Their setting was automatically all that much more romantic, because of what they were wearing.  Maybe it was the candy enticement for smiles, but the twins have always been great in every session we have done together.  There were no tears from the children (or parents), and everyone had a fun time in the canyon together.  I am always drawn to the little details on these two toddlers.  I love their delicate hands, long eyelashes, and kissy faces.  I sent Michelle a quick sneak peek after their session; and I still feel badly, because I told her that I had the cutest picture to share but she would have to wait until the next morning to view it.  The picture was of her babies kissing each another.  Right after their kiss, they would both exclaim with excitement, “Muah!”

Michelle and Jared, I love getting to spend any amount of time with your family.  You were very well prepared with the gummy bunnies and Skittles care package in trade for smiles.  I must be their favorite Auntie, because your babies must think that I always have candy to give them.  They did give me their best beautiful smiles!  I will give them all of the candy their hearts desire.  I like the pictures with just the two of you, but I really love the pictures where you are each with one baby.  These are the pictures that I think they are going to cherish as they get older.  This is exactly why I love photographing families. Because I know that the babies will one day grow up and yearn to see this special time with their family members.
