Sadie + Stan
The wind was howling the day of this fall family portrait session! We were planning on heading up the canyon to get out the wind; but, unfortunately, the location we were planning to go was closed for a special event. We made a quick change to our game plan, and we tried a somewhat protected area; but the wind was still gusting! The wind did not ruin the session though. The wind helped create some extra movement to their pictures that can be hard to come by!
Each child was given the opportunity to take an individual picture with each parent; and I love how whichever two people were in the picture, they both lit up with smiles and laughter. When it was time for their son to take his individual picture, he requested to wear his dad’s sunglasses. This trickled into the picture of the siblings together, and they were both wearing sunglasses. I smile when I look at these pictures, because they tug at me emotionally and take me back to that moment with their family. At the end of their session, their daughter had a posing request for everyone to walk away from the camera with their arms all linked around each other’s waists (the picture is above). This ended up to be a favorite of mine from their session.
Sadie and Stan, your family handled the change of location with ease, and you all looked amazing. Besides a little flower pollen on some articles of clothing, your session was nothing but perfection. I would have never guessed that your oldest may have been tired and hungry from his basketball tryout, because he was full of smiles and had a good attitude. Both of your children showed me their beautiful smiles, and I loved how their love for your family radiated off of their faces. I love doing portrait sessions for families just like you; I get a little glimpse into your lives to see how wonderful and strong your relationships truly are.
