Samantha and Chris started their spring engagement session back where it all began at Chico High School, and they ended with their session in the gorgeous golden hour glow in Bidwell Park. It had been stormy for weeks, and they were so lucky to have the warm sunshine make her appearance. Right as we started their session, Samantha and Chris pointed out the exact classroom where they had shared a class in high school. Of course we took a picture of them standing in front of this classroom door, Room A110. Samantha and Chris met during their junior year of high school. They ended up hanging out in the same social circles. After about six months of being friends, they decided to date. After high school, Samantha went to San Jose State, and they continued with a long-distance relationship for a few years until she returned back home. Samantha would come home to visit often, but Chris preferred to visit her in San Jose; because he would then have Samantha all to himself and not have to share with her family and friends in Chico.
Chris proposed to Samantha in June of 2017. Prior to the proposal, Chris had distracted Samantha and told her that he had to wait a few more months to save up enough money before he could purchase a ring. Chris and Samantha are big Disney fans. Chris ended up bringing Disneyland to Samantha for their proposal story. He decorated three rooms that were all different Disney themes. While Chris was preparing his themed rooms, a friend took Samantha out of town so she would not wonder what he was up to. Chris created posters, had a welcome sign, and he had lots of props. Chris went to the extreme for his themes. The Little Mermaid had sand on the floor, Frozen had snow, reindeer, and Olaf, and a Cinderella Ball. Chris appeared at the end of the scavenger hunt, dressed in a suit, and down on bended knee asked Samantha to marry him.
Samantha and Chris, it was wonderful to get to know you better before your wedding day in June. You two did amazing at your engagement session! You two have a wonderful relationship, and it is easy to see that you are extremely in love! I love that you two would whisper to each other and giggle as you were pulled in close together. I could sense how great your relationship truly is! I loved every moment from your engagement session, from your heart signs to every little detail in your wardrobe.
