Adrianne and Michael flew in from Southern California for their engagement session in Chico.  It was chilly and there was about a 50 percent chance of rain during their session time.  We started their session on the beautiful campus of California State University, Chico and then we got caught in the rain in Upper Bidwell Park!  Adrianne and Michael did not seem to mind though.  It just meant that they had to giggle as they snuggled up under one umbrella.  At the end of the session, they were willing to put the umbrella down (more like the wind blew their umbrella out their hands!) and took the chance to kiss in the rain!  Please click on the following links to view more engagement sessions: Margo + Mark, Alexis + Kyle, and Abigail + Dalton.

How They Met

Adrianne and Michael met when they had a class together at San Jose State.  These two were known for talking too much in class!  Their first date was supposed to be a dinner date, but Michael could not find the restaurant.  So, they then spent the next five hours at the beach; smores included.  Their first date probably ended up better than just a dinner date.  Adrianne and Michael dated for three months until they both graduated from college.  They then continued to date long distance for one year and nine months.

The Proposal

Michael had taken Adrienne on a hike to the same beach where they shared their first date.  Adrianne had been grumbling about how long they had been on this hike at the beach and how much distance they had already covered.  She was ready to be done!  Michael continued to have her climb up the cliffs until she saw their family, friends, and Adrianne’s teammates holding up proposal signs that read “Will you marry me?”.  Adrianne said yes!

Adrianne and Michael, it was wonderful to finally meet you two in person!  You two are wonderful people and you make an even more amazing couple.  We truly enjoyed our time with you.  Our cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing throughout your session.  It is easy to see how much you two love each other.  Rain could have ruined someone’s parade, but you two embraced the moment to be adventurous together!  Thank you for allowing us to show you a little bit of Chico and trusting us to fly up to Northern California for your engagement pictures.  You two will rock your wedding day in September!  We cannot wait for you to see some of our many favorites from your session!
