2019 started off wonderfully with Patty and Jack’s family in Upper Bidwell Park!  Patty and Jack had their whole family in town for the holidays and took advantage of this by updating their family pictures.  The weather was sunny and the temperature was perfect for this January afternoon!  The mood of the session was set when their son-in-law, Kevin, led the carpool and honked a rhythmic hello as they pulled up!  His wife got out of the truck and laughed as she exclaimed, “We are here!”  You can view a previous blog post of Kevin and Jenna here.

First, we got a picture of the whole family together.  Once we successfully captured everyone, Patty had shared that she never had a picture of just her parents together.  Getting a picture of Patty and Jack together was next!  I love getting the couple that started it all their own picture.  Is it possible that the last time a couple had professional pictures taken was on their own wedding day?  I love to give them plenty of pictures together, and there typically is plenty of laughter; because they are so comfortable together.  Patty and Jack did not disappoint!  They loved and laughed throughout their whole session!

I loved all of their smiles, laughter, and I am always a sucker for sister pictures!  But one of my favorite moments from our time together was when Jack requested a picture with just his son-in-law, Kevin.  It says a lot about their relationship when the father wants a picture with only his son-in-law.  They started out with some GQ serious poses, moved to smiles, and then Kevin snuck in a “thumbs up” in there too.  Family sessions make me feel so good, because I enjoy the session as much as the family!

Patty and Jack, what a way to start out 2019!  I could not have asked for a better way to start the new year off than with your family!  I am so glad we were able to get your session in while everyone was in town!  Bidwell Park was the perfect setting for your happy and joyous family!  I could have spent all afternoon following your sweet granddaughter around!  I can see how much love you two share for each other and all the love in your family.  I love all of the combinations we captured, and I am so excited for you to see some of my favorites below!
