In honor of April’s National Infertility Awareness Week, the Northern California Fertility Foundation hosted their second annual fundraiser event at Butte Creek Country Club in Chico, CA.  The night included appetizers, raffle prizes, and silent auction items.   The schedule for the evening had to have some last minute changes due to a wonderful honor by Senator Jim Nielsen.  The NCFF was awarded the 2018 Senate District 4 Nonprofit of the Year!  Senator Jim Nielsen was very impressed with their organization and enjoyed meeting with the board members at a previous meeting.

The board members were very excited about this evening because this was the first time the foundation had grants to present to two very grateful couples.  The grant recipients knew that they had been selected, but they did not know the amount they would be receiving.  Each couple was brought up individually and they were each presented with a humongous check that was the perfect amount to help them achieve their dreams of parenthood.  There were some tears of joy from the couples and from the supporters in the crowd.  Some of these specials moments were caught on camera.

Many members of our community donated amazing prizes for the raffle and silent auction.  Here are a few noteworthy community members that helped to make this a successful fundraiser:

Kelly Hock, with North Bloom Floral Design, provided the gorgeous floral centerpieces on each table.  Nicole Andreini, with Studio 22, helped to rebrand Northern California Fertility Foundation and set them up with a brand new website.  Kyle Williams created the perfect ambiance in the room with his musical talent.  (A grant recipient couple slow danced the night away with the dream of parenthood in their hearts!)  I have photographed multiple couples and families that are a part of the NCFF family.  You can view their blogs here: Andrea and Family, Alisha and Nicolas, Meaghann and JD, and Sarah and James.

Northern California Fertility Foundation was founded in 2017.  They are a nonprofit organization that raises money to help support people financially, who are going through infertility treatments.  The NCFF has brought the Chico Infertility Support Group under their foundation umbrella and they have partnered with the Northern California Fertility Medical Center.  All board members have experienced infertility and they have a passion for advocating and spreading awareness about it. The complete focus is to raise funds to directly pay for the treatments of their grant recipients.  The funds go directly to the clinics so there is no extra work for the recipients and there are no questions for the donors as to where the money goes.  Costs of these treatments range anywhere from $1000 to upwards of $100,000+ in certain scenarios.
